What AtChurch.Online contains, who it is for, and how we keep it appropriate for all ages.

Who the app is for

AtChurch.Online is a private management and communication tool for members of a single local congregation. It is not a social network and it is not open to the general public.

It is used by members of all ages, including families and their children.
People join at the invitation of their church, or by asking their church to be added. Each account is tied to one congregation.
Every account requires a verified email address before it can be used.
A member of one church cannot see the people, groups, prayer requests, photos, messages, or records of any other church.

Because congregations include children and young people, we have deliberately built the app without the features that usually create risk: there are no public member profiles, no follower or friend system, no private messaging between individuals, and no way to find or contact someone outside your own congregation.

What content the app contains

Content written by the church

Service times, announcements, bulletins, and news from the church office.
Events and calendars, including registration for church activities.
Bible reading plans and devotional material.
Online giving and personal giving history.

Content written by members

Prayer requests — short text requests shared with the member's own congregation, shown under the author's name.
Group and team communication — messages and files shared inside groups that a church administrator has created, such as a worship team, ministry team, or class.
Photos that members add to church photo albums, where their church has enabled this.
Event comments on a church's event pages.

There is no advertising in the app, and no third-party or algorithmic content feed. Members only ever see material posted by their own church or by fellow members of that church.

Why it is appropriate for all ages

The protection is structural: the app simply does not provide the pathways through which unwanted contact normally happens.

Concern	How the app is built
Contact from strangers	There is no private or direct messaging between individuals. Conversations happen only inside groups created by a church administrator, and only administrators and the leaders they appoint can add people to a group.
Browsing or discovering other users	There is no browsable member directory for ordinary members, and no user search, profile browsing, or "people you may know". Contact details such as phone numbers, email addresses, and home addresses are visible only to members a church administrator has specifically given a people-management role.
Contact across congregations	All member content is scoped to a single church. There is no cross-church interaction of any kind.
Public exposure of member activity	Prayer requests, group messages, event discussion, photo albums, member photos, giving history, and the member directory all require signing in, and are served only to members of the same congregation. They are never shown to the public and are not reachable by search engines.
Mature or unmoderated content	The app contains no mature themes, no gambling, and no violence. There is no public user-generated feed of any kind: everything a member writes is visible only to signed-in members of that member's own congregation, and there is no algorithmic or recommended content. Church administrators can remove any member content and any member account at any time.

Pages that are intentionally public

So that visitors can find a church, each congregation has a small set of public, brochure-style pages served from its own web address. These contain material the church has chosen to publish:

The church home page, with service times and contact information
A public calendar and event pages, showing the event details the church has published. Member discussion and the names of members attending are visible only after signing in.
Published bulletins and announcements
A visitor "connect" card, online giving, and event registration forms

Everything else requires signing in — prayer requests, group messaging, photo albums, giving history, member records, and all administrative tools.

How to report a concern

If you see content that is inappropriate, or you are concerned about the safety or wellbeing of someone in the app, please report it straight away.

Email us at [email protected] and we will investigate. Please include the church name and what you saw.
Contact your church office. Your church's administrators can remove any content posted in their church and can remove or deactivate any member's account immediately.

We take reports involving a child's safety seriously and act on them urgently. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
